My journey begins with a personal event that changed my life forever. My mother passed away of stage 4 ovarian cancer (she was diagnosed in July 2015) in her mid 60's last September. Outside of the time she spent in and out of the hospital she really didn't have time to plan and prepare for her death. She told me she didn't want to go. Those kind of things are just not in our power. So she headed to hospice with no will, no life insurance and left us with no plan. I had never been so close to death or the business of putting someone to rest. I had to quickly learn. Thankful for my grandmother and all she did. This adventure made me realize that if I don't have a plan then for the most part no one will take the responsibility to make sure things get done if I pass unexpectedly.
I promised my mother that I would make sure that people understood the importance of planning for when they leave this earth. It is not just about leaving money for your family to continue to flourish but the means to make sure business is properly taken care of without an additional burden. Based on what you own determines the level of detail needed. We will discuss all these things further.

On top of the blog I plan on having teleconferences and live events to discuss the process with you and professionals. The more you know the more likely you are to make educated decisions of what is best for your situation. Dialog sometimes is the best way to spread knowledge.
If I touch one person through this process then I did my part. Everyone still won't make adjustments but at least they will be educated. Education is one of the strongest defenses we have. Knowledge is surely power in most situations.
